Common questions

What is an ephemeral alias?

An alias is a tagged address on an existing inbox — e.g. ci+run1234@qa.acme.mailfork.dev. It expires automatically after a set TTL and either deletes received emails or keeps them in place.

Do I need to configure DNS?

No. MailFork uses a single wildcard MX record. Creating a new org or team is a database row — no DNS changes, no propagation delays.

Can I use MailFork in CI/CD?

Yes. The SDK exposes waitForEmail(), waitForOtp(), and alias lifecycle management — all designed for headless test automation.

What counts as an API call?

Any request to the REST API authenticated with an API key. Polling the summary endpoint counts once per request regardless of the number of inboxes returned.

What is the org namespace?

The org namespace gives your team addresses like inbox@team.acme.mailfork.dev. It supports multiple teams under one org and personal inboxes for each member.

Is there a free trial for paid plans?

Paid and Team plans include a 14-day trial with no credit card required.
